On August 25, 2017, Hurricane Harvey made landfall in the Texas Coastal Bend. Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Islanders are committed to helping with the cleanup and recovery efforts in our neighboring communities.  

If you would like to help with those efforts, the following organizations are accepting volunteers and donations.


Coastal Bend Community Foundation: 
· What they need: Donations 
· Coastal Bend Disaster Recovery Group established a fund with the Foundation to accept charitable donations and distribute recovery grants for the benefit of our seven-county region (Aransas, Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, Refugio, and San Patricio) in the event of such a natural disaster. You may donate directly to this recovery effort by clicking HERE.
.Joe McComb established the Mayor’s Hurricane Harvey Fund September 1 to accept donations to be used for immediate community infrastructure and rebuilding needs in Aransas, Bee, Nueces, San Patricio, and Refugio counties. Grantees must be governmental entities or IRS 501(c)(3) organizations. You may donate directly to this recovery effort by clicking HERE

Coastal Bend Food Bank:

.Coastal Bend Food Bank has been working hard to support those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The food bank opened its community pantry to the community and is distributing food to those in need. You may donate or volunteer by clicking HERE

Coastal Bend Volunteer Connection:

Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi: 
· What they need: Volunteers 
· How: Need of volunteers to help sort through donations to provide to community members in need. Their warehouse is located at 615 Oliver Ct., Corpus Christi. Their hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, click here.
