The President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition. PVSA recognizes US residents who have achieved the required number of hours of service over a 12 month period. Earning this distinction, recipients receive a medal or a pin, a certificate of achievement signed by the president and a congratulatory letter from the president.
The award year runs from April 1 through March 31 each year. All volunteer hours must be entered by 11:59 pm on March 31. Hours entered after that time cannot be counted for the closing year, nor can they be carried forward to the next year.
